O Grammy Awards 2022 teve como grandes protagonistas o jazz, o rock azedinho e a melodia do R&B. Isto porque Jon Batiste, artista que detinha o maior número de indicações, acabou levando a melhor na disputa pelo troféu de Álbum do Ano com o projeto “We Are”. O resultado desbancou favoritos como “Happier Than Ever”, de Billie Eilish.

Olivia Rodrigo, por sua vez, se deu bem ao ficar com 3 troféus, entre eles os de Artista Revelação e Melhor Álbum de Pop Vocal por “SOUR”, uma das estreias mais expressivas de 2021. Nada mais justo.
Por fim, o duo Silk Sonic, que recebeu a distinta missão de abrir a cerimônia, acabou ficando com uma categoria importantíssima: Gravação do Ano. Quem deu o prêmio a Anderson .Paak e Bruno Mars foi “Leave the Door Open”.

A noite também foi marcada por momentos de grande emoção, como quando Lady Gaga se apresentou sem Tony Bennett e o nome da brasileira Marilia Mendonça apareceu nas homenagens do seguimento In Memorian. Nas demais performances, destacaram-se ainda a sensualidade e o domínio de palco de Lil Nas X, o rock de Billie Eilish e Nas, além da própria Olivia Rodrigo, que conseguiu colocar um carro no palco para cantar “Driver’s License”.
